Ways to fund the equipment you need

The best option depends on whether you want to own the asset and how you want to treat it for tax.

Spread the cost and own the asset when the final payment is made.

Finance lease

Use the asset for a fixed rental without the upfront cost of buying it.

Vehicle and fleet finance

Vans, HGVs, cars and specialist vehicles for business use.

Plant and machinery

Production lines, CNC machines, construction plant and agricultural equipment.

Asset refinance

Release cash from equipment you already own outright.

Technology and fit-out

IT, medical and catering equipment, and shop or clinic fit-outs.

Questions

Asset finance FAQs

What is the difference between hire purchase and leasing?

With hire purchase you own the asset after the final payment. With a lease you rent the asset for an agreed period and do not normally take ownership.

Can I finance used equipment?

Yes. Many lenders fund used assets, including private sales, subject to the asset's age and condition.

Does asset finance need a deposit?

Some deals need no deposit. For others a deposit of 10% to 20% is common, and the VAT may be paid upfront or financed separately.
