Questions

Commercial mortgages FAQs

How much deposit do I need for a commercial mortgage?

Usually 25% to 30% of the purchase price. Some lenders go higher for strong owner-occupied cases, and additional security can sometimes reduce the deposit needed.

How long does a commercial mortgage take?

A straightforward case often completes in 6 to 12 weeks. The valuation and legal work usually take the most time.

Is it better to rent or buy business premises?

Buying can cost less than rent over time and builds an asset, but ties up a deposit. We can show what the monthly repayments would look like against your current rent.

Can I buy property through a limited company?

Yes. Many lenders lend to limited companies and special purpose vehicles, usually with personal guarantees from the directors.
